November 13, 2018

Officers Present: Mike McGinn, Kelvin King and Mary Reed

The Bellwood Neighborhoods Civic League meeting was held at the home of Bill and Leslie Hart at
2184 Margaret Drive at 7:00 p.m. President Mike McGinn called the meeting to order. The meeting
began with a raffle (the prize was a $15 Firehouse gift card) for all those who arrived prior to the 7:00
p.m. meeting. Marilyn Russell won the prize.

The minutes were provided by Mary Reed and posted on website. Mike McGinn asked if any changes
to minutes. Kelvin King motioned to accept minutes and seconded by Marilyn Russell.

Treasurer’s Report:

Kelvin King presented the treasurer’s report. There was a discussion on dues and budget. Joe
Monaco motioned to accept treasurer’s report and seconded by John Dicarlo.

Committee Reports:

Marilyn Russell of Hospitality committee reported of 4 new neighbors. She has made visits to all.
There was a discussion on new comers in neighborhood.
· There was a proposal to service the entranceway at least 2 times per year. It was motioned to
accept by Leslie Hart and seconded by Cheryl Monaco.
· Cheryl reported an update on the status of dues payment. Currently there is 53% participation.
· Neighborhood watch alert. Kids were seen leaving the back of home. Please watch for suspicious
activities.

Old Business:

· Website discussion. Todd Garrett has developed the BNCL website. The website is going well
and suggestions are welcomed.

· The BNCL meetings scheduled for 2019 are:

Feb.12th -Cheryl and Joe Monaco (4004 Margaret Circle)
May 14th -Kevin and Debbie King (4005 Margaret Circle)
August 13th – Bill and Leslie Hart (Margaret Drive)
Nov. 12th – A host home is needed for meeting

New Business:

The Christmas outdoor display decorations contest will be conducted on Monday, December 17th at
6:30 p.m. Please have your displays on. Judges for the contests are Leslie Hart, Mike McGinn and
Kevin King.

There is a square of loose gravel on Margaret Drive near Margaret Circle. Please use the website,
SeeClickFix to report any hazardous conditions in the neighborhood. Take pictures of things needing
to be fixed and send to VA Beach City. They will respond and fix.
The meeting adjourned at 8pm.
